Job Description
Software Engineer Intern to support the software design and development for web interfaces to databases
Overview:
Developing, testing and troubleshooting existing web pages and databases.
Develop new webpages
Participate in the software development life cycle activities like requirements reviews, design reviews, code reviews, implementation, and testing.
Support the development and roll out of new tools.
Core Responsibilities:
Work with other team members to develop, implement and improve web pages and tools used by the business
Document and maintain the web pages and tools
Create test cases for the existing web pages and automate the testing of the tools
Gather requirements from our customers
Design and update the databases which are used to store the data on the backend.
Develop tools in Microsoft Excel to help make a task more efficient
Additional Responsibilities:
Report status on development and updates to manager and customers as needed or requested
Learn additional programming languages or tools as needed. Python, PHP, SQL, GIT, JavaScript, JQuery
Communicate with customers and team members as needed
Use GIT to version control the software and documentation
Work with Apache and the Linux OS to support web pages and databases
Core Capabilities:
Ability to work well on a team
Ability to work with minimal direction
Ability to develop a plan, adjust the plan as needed and track to the plan
Ability to collect and interpret requirements
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a US accredited degree program
Must maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8
Software Programming classes completed
Developed web pages
Worked with HTML
Able to query and design relational databases
Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Macros in excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Junior or Senior standing
Familiar with PHP
